About Us
Introducing the Alpha Chapter of the Iota Beta Chi Sorority.

In 1996, near Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Gwen (Butler) Butcher decided to create an organization that would promote strong, life long relationships and philanthropic activities. With the help of Lorraine (Wasson) Lorette, Jessica (Maddison) Goora and Kristina (Childs) Legge, Iota Beta Chi was created. The first pledge class was initiated in December 1997 near Dalhousie University. In 2001 the Beta Chapter was founded near the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
