Anti-Hazing Policy:

As of 2015-Present

Halifax Greek Life prohibits any form of hazing by Greek Life-involved students/members and enacts a zero-tolerance policy for such actions on or off any Halifax campus/community. Any prospective member organization wishing to become apart of Halifax Greek Life must have an appropriate risk management policy and plan in place. Hazing can apply to individuals as well as student groups and is defined by law as:

Any action taken, created, or intended, to produce mental or physical discomfort, embarrassment, harassment, or ridicule that is directed at new or prospective members of a recognized student organization. Such actions may be perpetrated by an individual, an individual against an organization, or an organization against an individual.

In case of violations, individuals and an organization as a whole may be subject to disciplinary action.  In addition to Dalhousie University’s in-depth Hazing Policy, students must also comply with both Halifax’s legal Anti-Hazing associated laws and the Federal Criminal Code.
